St. Vincent de Paul Community Pharmacy-Hattiesburg Opens

The St. Vincent de Paul Community Pharmacy is proud to announce the opening of a second licesnsed pharmacy in Hattiesburg, MS. SVDRPX began serving the Hattiesburg area in 2014 as an Extension Site. Clients were screened in Hattiesburg and meds were filled in Biloxi. Medication was later mailed back to clients. This new facility will allow for further growth in the Pine Belt Area and Northern Deanery of the Diocese of Biloxi. We are thankful to our partners at Edwards Street Fellowship Center for the use of shared space in Pittman Founders Hall located at 1904 Edwards Street. Twenty-five new volunteers have signed on to get the Pharmacy up and running. Medicine was dispnsed for the first time on October 8, 2018. This expansion is the result of a three year strategic plan to ensure those in need of help will have access to the medicine they so desperately need.

After much consideration and discussions with the course, the Day Family, and many sponsors we have decided to cancel the Daniel Triplett Day Charity Golf Classic that had been rescheduled for tomorrow. The weather is simply not cooperating. After this second cancellation, there are no plans to reschedule. Many thanks to all of our sponsors and volunteers. All of your efforts help raise over $42,000 for the #SVDPRX program of work. These funds will help us fill over 31,000 prescriptions this year. This innugural event has generated so much momentum, we are all already excited about 2019! Thank you all so much.
